Last time I was opening some thoughts on the blog that have been running in my mind. This time I can say, The Game Is On! We have decided the spot for real, and surprise surprise, it will be Villa Jääskelä!

For a while there we had 3 spots booked, all three I mentioned in one of the previous blogs. Thing is Varjola was cheap and had accommodations in the area, but the room was so boring. Both me and Joery felt, it lack any atmosphere. Savutuvan Apaja seemed in pictures nice and also would have had some accommodations in the area. We had some communication problems with them, but finally managed to booked a day –two weeks later than we had originally planned, but that was not the problem. What I was worried was the price of that place, since they have quite a unique look. And I was right to be afraid, since the spot would have been about 1 000 euros more expensive then Villa Jääskelä (rent +food). Savutuvan Apaja said they don´t have rent feed, but it is included in the menu price. Also the space looked quite dark and small after all.

So, actually when I did the calculations I smiled: I had hoped all the time that Savutuvan Apaja would be too expensive so, we could not take it. Since by a wheelchair it would have been slightly better option. I feel this turned out just the way it should. I even got a confirmation from the owner of Villa Jääskelä, that we can move the heavy tables a bit, so I will definitely fit to move around. We are so excited that the main decision has finally been made. Now we have to start looking for a photographer, figure how the civil-wedding will be done (paper work, getting someone to the location when the wedding day is etc.) and let at least the Belgian people know the date! I am not so worried about the Finnish people to get Save the Date –cards, since they don´t need to book flights and plan on staying the night or more nights in some place at Finland. So for now, we probably will be giving only to Belgians the Save the Date –cards and see, if Finnish guests only shall have the invitation. Savings savings… Who knows? I kinda like the Save the Date –cards, so might after all send to Finnish guest also. My mind can´t make decisions!

So what next?

We have place and a date. I have already contacted some photographers. I must say, that is a trouble for me. As a media-assistant I have quite good eye for pictures and that means, that I think I can see big differences with the talents of photographers. That means, I don´t think we can settle just for a cheap photographer, since I mainly understand why they are cheap –not good lightning, focus is wrong, cropping cuts the legs or arms wrong etc. So, we might end up putting quite a lot money in that –when not so many might. I love pictures and even more I love GOOD pictures.

Also some unnecessary early things to think about: wedding ring and dress. But hey, that´s what brides do–right? There is not really any hurry yet to think about the wedding ring, but it is something kinda fun to do. Except I can´t seem to find any ring that I would even slightly like! I have contacted a jewelry shop in hope that they can help me in designing a ring that would work with the engagement ring I have. Problem is, I don´t really know what I want so how are they gonna figure it for me? All I think I know is that I think it should be similar shape as the one I have right now –wishbone shape.

Other thing I think I will write a whole own blog or two later is the dress. How on earth can I ever find one I like? So much options and no models in a wheelchair. I should know a lot more about how fabrics work to figure what is good for me. My back is all twisted and I sit –not a usual bride. I know it has to be at least to some length be done by a professional and not just a dress from a shop. I also don´t want just a basic

white dress. I am a theatrical person and I would say a colorful one also –how could I use a traditional boring white? I know it looks great for many, but I don´t see myself wearing one.

And one more thing that is in my to-do list right now: asking/ booking hotel rooms or some other accommodation for the Belgian guests. Tough I find this really difficult, since we don´t yet know who will actually come all the way to Finland and how many night in a hotel? I think in this one we need to ask help from the older and smarter versions of us –parents!
